Between duck hunts we still have time to catch a few fish. We took clients on a quick evening trip and brought enough home for dinner and turned the rest back.

Carrabelle River - Franklin, FL Fishing Report on 2nd May, 2024

Today's fishing expedition with Sidehustle Excursions in Carrabelle was nothing short of extraordinary. The weather was cooperative, offering clear skies and calm waters, setting the perfect stage for an exceptional day of angling. We kicked off the adventure targeting Redfish in the shallow waters along the mangroves. Using a combination of live bait and strategic casting, we quickly found ourselves in the midst of some thrilling Redfish action. The bites were frequent, and the fights were exhilarating, providing our guests with unforgettable moments on the water. As the day progressed, we ventured into deeper waters to pursue Speckled Trout. Employing a variety of techniques, including jigging and drifting, we located schools of Trout feeding near the drop-offs and channels. The Trout were cooperative, eagerly taking our offerings and rewarding our efforts with some impressive catches. Throughout the excursion, the camaraderie among our guests was palpable, with laughter and excitement filling the air. It was a pleasure to share my knowledge of the local waters and angling techniques with anglers of all skill levels, fostering a memorable and educational experience for everyone on board. In addition to the fantastic fishing action, we were treated to sightings of dolphins playing in the distance, adding to the natural beauty and magic of the day. Overall, today's fishing trip in Carrabelle was a resounding success, thanks to the combination of favorable conditions, plentiful catches, and the camaraderie of our guests. It's days like these that remind me why I love being out on the water and sharing my passion for fishing with others. Until next time, tight lines and fair winds!
